Princess Janae Place

As you may know, transgender folks face issues like violence, discrimination, homelessness, and poverty at staggeringly disproportionate rates. When trans folks are in need of housing, we are often turned away or face hate and violence while in the shelter system. In the Bronx in NYC, Princess Janae Place is striving to end that by providing a safer space for trans and GNC people to find a home support and comfort from folks in our community.

Residents of the tri-state area will come together on Saturday, December 9th, 2017 to compete in the only Royal Pageantry competition of its kind. We are in search of New York's finest contenders to serve as the spokes persons for the Housing Is Healthcare Campaign.

Along with a prize package valued at over $4,000, winners will receive the Princess, Prince, & Miss crown, and a gorgeous satin sash. The selected winners will also be afforded the opportunity to compete in other national competitions featuring or advocating for the TG/GNC/Non-binary community. Event doors will be opened at 5 p.m. and the pageant will begin one hour later at 6 p.m.

Event general admission will be $15; however, VIP packages will be available for $30 or more. Contestants registration will be held at 12 noon where contestants will be responsible for an entry fee of $75.
